REFLECTION
Experience :
I enjoyed the Video & Sound Production module the most out of all the modules this semester. I never realized how deep my interest in video production ran until I immersed myself in this course. Each project was unique and enjoyable, but my favorite was Project 2.
Project 2 stood out because we filmed in a professional photo studio, using advanced equipment. This real-world experience was invaluable, helping us understand the intricacies of a professional setting. Working with the crew was a joy, as we collaborated seamlessly and supported each other throughout the filming process.
The most fun came during the editing phase. Transforming raw footage into polished movie trailers was incredibly satisfying, and I learned a lot about pacing, transitions, and sound effects. This module deepened my passion for video production and equipped me with practical skills and unforgettable experiences. It was a highlight of my semester and inspired me to continue exploring this creative field.
Observations :
I observed that editing isn’t as hard as I initially thought it would be, even though I was completely new to using Premiere Pro. Thanks to Mr. Martin's expert teaching and the effective exercises he provided, I found myself picking up the necessary skills with ease. His step-by-step guidance and hands-on assignments made the learning process smooth and enjoyable. Each exercise was designed to build on the previous one, gradually increasing in complexity and helping me to develop a solid understanding of the software. By the end of the module, I felt confident in my ability to edit videos proficiently, which was a pleasant surprise given my initial apprehensions. This experience has not only demystified video editing for me but has also sparked a newfound interest in exploring more advanced techniques.
Findings :
It is crucial to practice the exercises in class hands-on and not just listen to lectures. I found that actively engaging in each practical exercise significantly improved my skills, enabling me to handle the projects more effectively throughout the semester. Each hands-on session allowed me to apply the concepts we learned in real-time, reinforcing my understanding and helping me retain the information better. This practical approach not only built my confidence but also prepared me for the challenges of our projects. By consistently practicing and applying what I learned, I was able to see tangible progress in my abilities, which was both motivating and rewarding. This hands-on practice was essential in transforming theoretical knowledge into practical skills, making me more proficient and prepared for future endeavors.
